Mentor sessions by country

A mentor session is priced in two steps. First, the price follows the mentor's country: a mentor in an upper-middle income country 25% more than the base price and a mentor in a high-income country 50% more. Then your country's discount is taken off that price, and the mentor's profile shows your price with the old one struck through.

The payment provider's processing and currency conversion charges are added at checkout as a separate line, and change with the payment method you pick.

How is my country decided?

While you browse, prices follow the country you are in. At checkout, your billing country decides the currency and the discount, and the total updates when you change it.

Is this like an APC waiver?

Yes, it follows the same idea as the APC waivers and discounts many journals give by country: researchers in lower and middle income countries pay less. The difference is that it applies to our services, not to a journal's publication fee, and you do not need to apply: the price is lowered by itself.

How are mentor sessions priced by country?

The session price follows the mentor's country: mentors in upper-middle income countries cost 25% more than the base price and in high-income countries 50% more. Your country's discount is then taken off that price.

Are taxes or payment charges added?

Taxes are added only where the law requires them. For mentor sessions, the payment provider's processing and currency conversion charges are added as a separate line at checkout.
